Accessibility Statement
Last updated: July 2026
Los Gallegos Restaurant is committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible, including those who use assistive technologies. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as a practical standard.
What we've done
- Semantic HTML with clear headings, landmarks, and a "skip to content" link.
- Keyboard-operable navigation, menu filters, and cookie controls, with visible focus outlines.
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images and accessible names on icon buttons and links.
- Color contrast chosen to meet WCAG AA for body text and interactive elements.
- Respect for the "reduce motion" system setting โ animations are minimized when requested.
- Responsive, mobile-first layout with large tap targets and no reliance on horizontal scrolling.
- An on-page accessibility widget (the round button in the lower-left corner) that lets you enlarge text, switch to high contrast, underline links, use a simpler font, pause animations, and strengthen focus outlines. Your choices are saved on your device only and apply across the whole site.
Ongoing effort
Accessibility is an ongoing process, and automated overlays are not a substitute for accessible design. We build accessibility into the site itself and review it as content changes. If any part of this site presents a barrier, we want to fix it.
